Featured Photographer: Melanie Rebane Photography

Melanie Rebane is a wedding, boudoir and portrait photographer from Ottawa, Ontario. Melanie’s elegant images have graced the pages of many wedding magazines and popular wedding blogs.

I asked Melanie a few questions about her work, and why she loves providing albums to her clients.

Why do you love selling wedding albums to clients? Why are they important to your couples?
Wedding albums are the heirloom that tells the story of the day from the anticipation, the tears, laughter surprise and spirited celebration of the wedding day. My clients love seeing their album designs because they bring together their favourite images into cohesive and beautiful story, which is so different from seeing a full gallery collection of hundreds of photos.

I encourage all my clients to make the investment in an album. In many cases few people print from their DVD and the archival quality of the albums is such a lovely way to cherish the photos they have invested in having taken that day.

Nikon or Canon?
Canon all the way! Looking forward to getting one of the new bodies coming out this year.

What is your favourite lens?
85 1.2 and the 35 mm 1.4 – I really can’t decide between the two.

Favourite kind of candy:
Coke bottle gummies.
