FAQ
- Do you edit the photos?
-
Nope, I won’t change your photos. If you want a photo in black and white, you'll have to send it in black and white. You should send in your photos exactly how you’d like them to appear in the album.
Try these great companies if you want to outsource your photo editing: ShootDotEdit (this is who I use!), Colorati and Photographer’s Edit.
If you want to do the editing yourself, check out Totally Rad Actions, I love these and use them often.
- What companies do you design for?
All of ’em! When you order, you will indicate the album company and I'll look up the specifications to make sure the designs are set up properly.
- Do you design with templates? If I send you a template I bought, would you put the photos in?
-
I do not, and cannot use other companies’ templates. All of my designs are customized to your photos, even the custom covers take inspiration and colours from your images.
I love using templates for my own photography business and my favourite places for amazing templates are The Album Cafe and Design Aglow.
- Do I get the physical book from you?
-
No, I just design all the pages/spreads. Your finished product will be a folder of high resolution JPGs or a PDF, depending on the requirements of your album company.
Some of my favourite album companies are: VisionArt and White House Custom Color.
- Can I have the final files as Photoshop files?
-
I will be designing the albums using Adobe InDesign. InDesign is the industry standard for layouts such as books, magazines, etc. After everything is approved I’ll give you the InDesign file for safe keeping.
Cover designs will usually be created in Adobe Photoshop. If you order a custom designed cover I will provide you with the final PSD when we’re done.
- Do you deal with the clients…or do we?
You do, but the comments and changes are sent to me through Album Exposure. This way your client won't know you outsourced the album design. Once I receive their comments and make the changes, I’ll let you know when the designs are done.

The way Liz set up the layout of the pictures was great. There was a real flow to the work that really came through in the finished product… You did a really great job, Liz. A really, really great job!
My album design was absolutely perfect—I can’t wait to share it with my clients! Album design has scared me for years, but now I am so excited to add high end albums into my wedding packages—a win/win for my clients & I! Thank you so much Liz - fabulous work!
